The ordinance of baptism by a burial with Christ should be observed as commanded in the Scriptures by all who have really repented and in their hearts have truly believed on Christ as Savior and Lord. In so doing, they declare to the world that they have died with Jesus and that they have also been raised with Him to walk in newness of life (Matt.28:19; Acts 10:47, 48; Romans 6:4). At Fountain Gateway Church, we baptize by way of emersion according to John 3:23, Matthew 3:16, and Acts 8:38. In addition, “baptize,” from the Greek baptizo, means “to immerse,” “plunge into” or “put into.”
Children who are below the age of 12 may not be baptized but will be dedicated to God and to the church during the worship service (Luke 2:21-40, Mark 10:13-16).
